
Running Routes and Trails
Here are 10 great running routes/trails within 30 miles of Clermont, Florida. I have run all of these, and they are certainly favorites! These routes and trails are always near beautiful neighborhoods. Click on the Website links for information.
South Lake Trail - this trail also contains the Lake Minneola Scenic Trail and the Waterfront Trail, both in Clermont. 25 paved miles, perfect for running and biking.
Lake Louisa State Park - 20 miles of unpaved trails and 7 miles of paved roads. Three main lakes, several smaller ones, 4000 acres of natural beauty!
West Orange Trail - 21 mile paved trail starts at Kilarney Station and take you through beautiful downtown Winter Garden and beyond.
Clay Island Trail - 7 mile loop. Watch out for alligators! Beautiful lake and marsh views.
Crooked River Preserve Trail - a short, 1.7 mile loop. Many different habitats to see.
Hancock Trail - 9 mile, wide, paved trail with rolling hills. Connects to the South Lake and West Orange Trails.
Seminole-Wekiva Trail - nearly 14 miles of paved trails. Lots of shade! Passes over I-4, but there's plenty of scenic portions as well.
Oakland Nature Preserve - 3.5 miles of dirt trails, or enjoy the nearly 1 mile long boardwalk to see a breathtaking view of Lake Apopka. Run through the swamp!
Ferndale Nature Preserve - 2 mile, soft sandy loop; natural, rolling terrain. Panoramic view of Lake Apopka.
Lake Hiawatha Preserve - 220 acres, soft sandy trails for running. Right on the South Lake Trail, and across the street from Lake Minneola.
